I am attempting to make an archive of an Option 11C database. I have inserted a new "SANDISK" PCMCIA memory card in Slot A: of the SSC card on the 11C. When I go to LD 143 and use the UPGRADE command, then select options 3, 2, 3 for "archive a customer database," the M1 returns the following message: "Software delivery card is not present. Please insert the card." I have attempted removing and re-seating the card several times, as well as putting it in slot B: instead of A:, all to no avail.

Is there a way to check whether the card or the SSC card slot is the problem? Is there a command to tell the M1 to attempt to read or format the card, or just to tell it "hey - there's a card in there!"?

I was warned by another PBX tech not to use the PCMCIA card in my Windows PC to test it, as this might render it un-readable to the M1's UNIX system. Can someone please advise as to what I should try next, other than get another PCMCIA card? Thank you.

What release is the system and how big is the SANDISK? I've heard some rumors on here about some of the earlier 11s not playing nice with the huge CF cards.

I've never had an issue with using the CF cards in my Win2000K machines.

The S/W Release is 25.30; the card size is 64MB - is this "too big"?.

If you haven't had any problems switching between Windows and M1 use on the flash cards, perhaps I will try using it with my PC to see if the card itself is OK. If that works fine, does anyone have any other suggestions?

try that, and if it fails, send back the card for a new one...I've had this happen with bad cards before.....Something in shipping F's with them I think.

Nope, I use a 128MB store bought card to back up my 25.30s. If another card doesn't work you might want to try giving it a poke (if its safe) just in case something locked up the PCMCIA controller on the SSC.

Different type of system but I did once have a large system that wouldn't talk to one of the floppy drives and a poke took care of it.

Thanks for all the help - I'll test the PCMCIA card on my laptop and if that checks out OK I'll try giving the SSC a "poke" - when nobody's looking of course.

Hi Gogo,
you can try using CardPro9 from Nortel website to format your CF card. I try to use WIN2K or WINXP to format it, it became unusuable to use to archive database. but after using Cardpro9 to re-format it, It ok now. Download it from Nortel Website.
