Toshiba DK40

does anyone have a good solution for one of my customers with mutiple locations? they have an option 61c and multiple norstar remote locations. i understand with networking software on the meridian and 5.0 or better with the networking and mcdn on the norstar will work fine with a point to point pri, but we cant justify the cost of point to points. they only have 10-15 sets and only use 3 or 4 copper lines currently at the norstars. they do have a data network in place though. any suggestions? :casstet: :casstet: :casstet: :casstet:

UNEMPLOYED TECHs

I have heard from Nortel that there may be a Norstar IP gateway available sometime this year. I assume this would interface with ITG Trunk cards in an M1.

I assume that the data network is frame-relay based; if so, then bandwidth and QOS may be of concern.

Call Pilot 2.0

Have you considered a simple drop & insert from the csu to split out the bandwith of the data circuit?

micb 2.0

What type of data circuit are they using between locations?

ATM, frame, point to point, and what is the bandwith?

Also, depending on your bandwith between locations, you might consider using the Multi Voip from Multi Tech. Send extensions to the outlying locations to appear as lines on the N*r's. We have used these for several customers, and the seem to work very well.

what kind of router do you have. what you are going to do is add a fxo/fxs card on your router and one side will be a ext and the other side will be a trunk. if you need help let me know. what parts or how to config

Internal calls not forwarding to voicemail

they have a couple of different setups. 56k's, and fractional point to points. they have cisco routers in place. i gues we can increase t1 bandwidth and put pri over that with a drop and insert, but what about the 56k sites?

Echo cans on overseas tie?

The way we have solved this issue, we added a T1 card to each 0x32 connected to a VoIP box. At the main office is 2-T1 connected to VoIP boxes with 4-T1 to a Dialer and 4-PRI to the local CLEC. Using this setup you do not need a one to one setup. The VoIP box look to the incoming digit dialed, route the call to the switch for the leading digit then redials the number at the far end. We have a Point to Point to each office running 24-vocie channels a 16k per call, allowing 1152k for Data. This allows the customer to back haul all the data plus most of the most of the telephone calls. We still have local lines in each office to support the E911 requirements. The config will allow offices to call corp or each other.
