Rep Power: 7 ![]() | For some unknown reason my CMDU 0 is disabled, and of course, RDUN also. I want to try tore- enable CMDU 0 and the RDUN but need to know if this is something that would be best saved until after prime time? IE: if I try to enable and it fails will my switch INI or something equally as ugly? Thanks.

Is there anything in the history file that indicates why it went down?

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Thanks for the quick reply! my first indication of trouble was a CCED218 cannot SCPU log. Otherwise, nothing else. I was tempted to try to re-enable the CMDU just to see if it would, but will wait til after hours. I'd had this CMDU replaced about 2 months ago, so I'm not sure whats up. We had major problems here over the weekend, but the switch stayed up, so I'm not sure if it's related or not. Thanks again!

They had a recall for several because they would go to sleep and not come back until you disabled and reseated the unit. If I recall all of the email that flew around you needed to have a release 10 or newer to avoid that particular issue. If you fall in to this class of problem, you may need to get a vendor and purchase new IODU/C units to alleviate this from happening in the future. But, in the short term, you can reseat the card and resynch the units. That should bring back the redundancy of your cores. rlc

If you have Release 9's you are in the clear from a hardware perspective. As I recal 4 through 7 havd varying problems, 8's were OK, but were actually remediated 6's. The 9's were the first clean ones 'out of the box' and I never heard of the hardware side of the issue after that. There were some patches that addressed the software side though. __________________ Fletch For more on Nortel E911 Solutions on the web: http://nortel.com/e911 Don't forget to register for the FREE E911 Webinar on Oct. 30th! http://thevoicereport.com/E911
