Location: Lompoc, CA Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I have an Option 11C Rel 23. I am currently the only one in my shop trained on this system. However, I am still only a beginner with this system. What I need to do is train others to do voice mailbox administration such as reset password or unlock mailboxes. I need to be careful as some of the techs are new in this field and like to experiment and some may not be as careful as they should be. I have spent days in the past troubleshooting and restoring service from actions taken by those that thought they knew what they were doing. What is the best way to make this possible without giving access to the rest of the system? Password is still default, as I have not had the nerve to change them yet. So, any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tony

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Train one smart person in your location and have all MAC go through them. I don't know if any permissions in Meridian Mail. You may just want to leave it in the Main Menu screen where people can see the basic commands, but that isn't a long term solution. Personally, I would stick to 1 or 2 other people at most and make sure they understand what you need them to do, then route all problems that you are unable to do, through them. Last thing you could do, is SPELL out the directions clearly on a piece of paper and hang it over the monitor. STEP 1. Do this STEP 2. Do This...etc... This may help eliminate people going to the wrong screens. Good Luck

Location: @home Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Paging Problem Could use a 3rd party application like PhoneMaster where you can restrict access to certain applications on the Mermail through the gui. User ID and password held by application but the application only allows them to do certain things like reset passwords. In a past life, we did this for all of our help desk. That way they could reset passwords and not touch anything else (for same reason, too many curious fingers).

Location: Lompoc, CA Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Thanks for you help. I have step-by-step instructions but people seem to want to wander off, then, I have to go back to troubleshoot. And, since I am only a beginner it sometimes takes me awhile to fix the errors. And, of course, nobody will admit playing around in the system or give me an idea what was done. Is there a way to reset VMS passwords by logging in as an administrator through a telephone?
