Location: Midwest Rep Power: 3 ![]() | We use CCIS between New York and Sussex 2000 PBXs. So it’s an NEC original protocol. Then to get it from the 2000 in Sussex to the Nortel is a standard PRI. Nortel wants us to put a T-berd on the PRI. The CCIS is H.323 and the NEC is H.245

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | MCS5100 don't support PRI, only SIP. What kind of SIP/PRI gateway do you use? If I correctly understand your case you have the following chain: "2500 analog set" - H323 - PRI - SIP - "MCS Meet-me conference" What kind of codec do you use on H323 part of way and on MCS ? PS What do you mean "NEC is h245"? H245 is a media control protocol not a signaling one.

Location: Midwest Rep Power: 3 ![]() | I just received a confirmation from the customer. They have a NEC2000 in NY. A NEC2000 in WI that are using CCIS (NEC private protocol). The NEC2000 in WI is connected to the Nortel PBX via PRI. 2500>Nec2000 NY>CCIS>Nec2000 WI>PRI>Nortel SIP>Meetme. The NEC manual states that CCIS is orginal protocol. We also have the same issues on carrier VoIP.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Have you tried to call from 2500 set to MCS user? Does this user hear the DTMF tones if 2500 will press the keys? I think that possible cause is somewhere in voice transcoding from H323 to PRI on NEC2000 WI.Or just too much voice transcoding - from analog to H323, then from H323 to PRI, from PRI to SIP.

Location: Midwest Rep Power: 3 ![]() | I tried a 2500 set and it didn't work, but heard the tones. I have a case at GNTS, they want me to update the VGMCs to 8.4 (they tell me that 8.4 is backwards compatibile). I will have to ask my customer to try the G711. I'll update later.

Location: Midwest Rep Power: 3 ![]() | I have been told by Nortel that I am seeing DTMF Leakage. They determined this after sending me test gear that measured the tones. They have told me that the VGMC cards DSP's are "sensitive". They also said it is an industry wide issue.
