MCS 5100 upgrade to 3.5

We are currently attempting to perform an upgrade from 3.0.19 to 3.5.4.
Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, any tips or advise would be appreciated.
The upgrade docs are confusing and sketchy at best. Does anyone have a list of necessary disks, for we recieved FAR too many from Nortel. What we recieved seems to be the same as an initial install. We have a 4 server, non-redundant system. Thanks in advance.

How many discs have you received ? What is the version number of main CDs ?
Typically upgrade from 3.0 to 3.5.5 looks like patch installation and number of CDs I have for this purpose - 5.

Any way, typical upgrade procedure is described in NTP NN10271-450 (4-server Sun Fire V100 Upgrade Guide). As it says:

"There are a total of 9 CDs available for the upgrade, including
• 6 CDs for Oracle 9.2.0.4 (Oracle CDs 1-6; these are the same as for
a fresh installation)
• 1 CD for the Solaris upgrade
• 1 CD for the System Management Console (This is the same as for
a fresh installation)
• 1 CD for the MCS 3.5 application software (This is the same as for
a fresh installation)
..."

So if you have 5 CDs - its just patches, if you have 9 or more CDs - its full upgrade complect. But if you have about 20 CDs - it could be an initial installation complect.

Man, Nortel should just use DVD"s, 20 CD's??? When we got our MCS I started sifting through all the CD's that come with it...man I can't imagine the PITA it must be to do the full install.

Took our Nortel Engineer 2 months to get it installed, working with our CS1000S and working properly.
