Meridian Mail Voicemail User Password Reset Documentation: For an Option 11C


To reset a Password in Meridian Mail follow these instructions.


Dial Up Instructions (skip to Step 5 for Local Access)
  • Use ProComm to Dial into the PBX. i.e. New York Office PBX. (9, 212-555-1212)
  • When you connect enter in the SEB Password: xxxxxx and hit “Enter”. You will see this List of Prompts if entered correctly:

1 Read Mass Memory

2 Search Mass Memory
3 Count Matching Strings in Mass Memory
4 Status Report
5 DisplayI/OPort Status
6 Clear Mass Memory
7 Go Transparent to HostPort
X Logout
3. Type in “7” (Go Transparent to HostPort)
  • Then at the “Which HostPort”? (1, 2) Choose “1”. This should take you into the PBX, if it does not please repeat steps 1-3.
  • Login into the PBX to access Voicemail. To do this, at the “>” prompt Type in “LOGI” the PBX will prompt you for the password, enter in “xxxx” (do not include the quotes). You should receive a Message stating “Logged IN with the time and date afterwards.
  • After Logging in proceed to the “>” prompt and enter: AX (This is to access the AuxiliaryPort) and should bring you to the Main Menu of Meridian Mail.
  • Press the "LogOn" *soft key to log into Meridian Mail, Then Enter the Password: xxxx
  • At the first menu choices select option 1 “User Administration”
Main Menu
1. User Administration
2. General Administration
3. Voice Administration
4. Hardware Administration
5. System Status and Maintenance
6. Operational Measurements
7. Network Administration
8. Class of Service Administration
9. Bulk Provisioning
  • At the second menu choices choose option 1 “ Local Voice Users” This will take you to the Voicemail Main Administration page for Users

1. Local Voice User

2. Remote Voice User

3. Directory Entry User

4. Distribution Lists

To Reset a Password in Meridian Mail there are 2 items that should be looked at, one is the password, the other is if the mailbox is disabled.
  • Click on the soft key “View/Modify” and enter in the extension of the person whose password you are resetting, then hit “Enter”. Use the arrow keys and scroll down the options until you reach “Log on Status”. Ensure that this feature is turned to “Enable”.
  • To reset the password, click on the soft key “Change Password”. It will prompt you for the new password, enter in the new password and hit enter. It will then prompt you to retype the new password for confirmation. Do so then hit the *soft key “Save”.

That is it; you have successfully changed the password of a Meridian Mail user.

*Soft Key's:
For Dial Up users these are usually the F1-F5 Keys
For Local Users these are usually the F6-F12 Keys
