Post Backing up your Meridian PBX system Locally and Remotely

Local Back Ups
To Back up your System make sure there is a Meridian Floppy in the Floppy drive.
Then go to:
1. LD 43
2. at the "." prompt type "EDD" then Return through.(EDD- without the Quote marks)
Once the process completes your done.
EDD makes a Back up of your current configuration to the Hard Disk storage. Then it proceeds to make a copy to the Floppies.
BKO :This takes a copy of the database from the Primary Device and makes a back up to the Floppy. This is only applicable to systems with Hard Disk Storage. This is useful if you are making mulitple back ups with mulitple Floppies. Once you do a Data Dump once it saves the info to the Data disk. Now if you insert other Floppies, You do a BKO which is much faster and transfers the newly stored data to the Floppy disk. It does not invoke the whole back up routine. (Saves some time.)
Remote Back Ups:
To remote Back up your Meridian PBX Option 11C -
*You must be Dialed in Using Hyperteminal or Procomm Go, If using Procomm The to:
1. LD 143
2. at "." type: XBK
3. INFO - You can label your download here
4. At the R prompt, select in h/terminal TRANSFER then select RECIEVE then you should get a window up ready for save info i.e destination drive file name ..
*In Procomm Click on the "Recieve" button and choose the destination folder....also before you connect be sure to use the Protocol: Xmodem
5. You should also run the XVR (Remote Verify database) Command . This will let you know if the database you downloaded is useable or not.
In LD 143 at the "R" prompt type: XVR and then select the recent download you performed. This will upload the file for verification.

* Please note that if you do not switch back to the M1 until the complete procedure is finished you will have been logged out of the M1 after 20 Minutes. This will not cause any problems, but you will have to log back into the M1 to perform other tasks or to log back into the MM.

2.EC (Enhanced Capacity) Modular Option

1.Insert a 250Mb or larger tape into the tape drive on the MM shelf.
2.Access the MM log in screen on the allocated administration terminal, using an AB switch box if applicable.
3.Complete steps 5 through to 13 as described in the above section 1.

The MM backup procedures are practically the same, as the same release of software is used, thus the screen navigation process is identical.
