S8300 Announcements

I have basic vectoring.....s8300 ver 4 (brand new)
1. if date is holiday etc..
2. if day of week...etc
3. play announcement 1111 (this is main "thank you for calling..etc)
4. play announcement 2222 (if you know your parties extension..etc)

My problem is this...their is a pretty substantial gap (5-10 secs)between playing the 1111 announcement and the 2222 announcment. Any ideas as to why this is? FYI - the gap is for all my announcments. It is causing folks to hang up because of the "dead air" they are getting.

Tks

When you recorded the announcement, did you press # to terminate recording or did you just hang up?

marty,

Sorry for not replying...stuck on this programming all darn day. The gal that did all the recordings just hung up after recording...she tried just hitting the #, but we heard that key stroke in the announcemtent. Finally, it is the timing from system parameters - features - page 16 (i think)...something like "Vector timeout" - it was set at 10, we moved it to 4. Made a world of difference.

tks again

correction -

it is in the display system parameters features, page 11, Vectoring - "prompting timeout (secs)". we changed it from 10 to 4.
