Quite simply, you have a firewall issue. If it works inside and not outside then something is blocking it.

If you have a VPN, there is no need for a firewall on the VPN connection as it is already secure. Disable it completely if you have it.

Is it a VPN from a single laptop (eg using Windows soft VPN) or a hardware based VPN?

INFormation about VPN

Dear Samunsell
As you mentioned that there is no need for the VPN. I am not able to understand it. How it is possible for us to connect to our IP office unit remotely,if we do not have VPN connectivity.
If you do not mind, can you tell me what are the exactly options are available to make the softphone working remotly and locally.
And you also mention that VPN has it self, what does it mean.
I hope you will not mind and give the answer ASAP.
Thanks

You need a VPN.
You do not need a firewall on the VPN connection.

You have a software firewall, then you can choose which connections it applies to. You should apply the firewall to your LAN or wireless connection. You should choose not to apply it to the VPN connection - there is no need.
