Unhappy Centralized VM Pro forgets user passwords for remote site

Hello everyone!

Looking for some pointers here. Maybe someone had a similar experience or maybe there is the tech tip on that on Avaya's site that I didn't get to yet. Any idea, comment or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
  1. Two 406V2 systems in a SCN across a VERY fast interoffice IP backbone. (leased fiber, can't be better)
  2. 20 VoIP channels are available. Seems plenty for the call volume.
  3. The remote office extensions would set their passwords and then randomly (looks like after the second successful login but I'm not too sure) the password would no longer work.
  4. The only way to (temporary) rectify the problem is to set the password in the Manager app.
  5. On the first login after that the system would ask them for a new password. They'd set it up and then after a while the password is no longer accepted again.
So, we are cycling through #3-#5 of the above list all the time. Random extensions are affected, at random times. The main office does not have this problem, only the extensions off the remote switch.

Have not heard back from Avaya yet. Have to be back on site tomorrow.

Once again, any and all ideas or comments are greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Hi,

What version system(s) and VMPro are you using?
Are you using VMPro in IP Office mode or Intuity mode?
Are you using DS phones, DT phones, or SLTs?
Entering the password in handsfree mode or with the handset up?

I would suggest getting a password hash viewer - something that will view what's behind the **** in the password field in Manager. Just to see if they passwords are actually changing or whether it's VMPro just not recognising what the user is entering. I use http://www.snadboy.com/RevelationV2.zip for this.

Have you tried accessing a remote user's mailbox from the local site? See if their password works from the local site.

Cheers
