Right now I'm attempting to revive a phone system for a non-profit... well, I'll post on it in a little bit. In the meantime, this is my first time dealing with the back end of a phone system, so any advice is welcome (and appreciated!) Thanks, /Bob

This project started on a lark, the local teacher's union hired a friend of mine to do handyman type stuff... Since I was recently out of a job (I just moved into the area), I went over with him to "break stuff". Do you have any idea how great using a 4 foot crowbar feels after sitting at a desk for 5 years? I made the mistake of telling them I know a lot about computers. So they hired me to do their networking. then the conversation basically went "Well, computers have wires, and phones have wires, so you can fix our phones too, right?" and I said "uhhhh, never done it before, but I'm a fast learner. I'll give it a try". Then I looked at the wiring job, and cried. a total of 4 active phones in the office, total of 10 that they want to work. there are more than 200 pair terminated at the demarc, and, among other more interesting things I've found, 2 66 blocks behind a grate in the hall. I should mention that I have traced these lines, and they don't lead to either my demarc or the demarc downstairs. Whoever did this wiring job thought either "when I get done with this, noone's going to be able to figure it out" or they were worried that the next guy wouldn't have enough wire. Maybe this picture will give you an idea what I'm dealing with (4 more 66 blocks to the left along with the phone system itself /Bob
