Hello all. I'm happy I found this forum - hopefully I can find some tips here. I just moved a GMX-48 for someone, and now have some problems. At power up, it gave me the "Minor Alarm" LED on the KSU. Finally, I saw in this forum that the wiring was a bit different, so I swapped the blue pair and now I can get the phones to come alive. (I have one just punched down to the 66 block in the closet to test with for now).

But now at power-up, the phone displays, "Warning!" and then, "System Alarm #18".

Can anyone tell me what disaster I face now? I hope I haven't somehow smoked this ancient thing just by moving it around to a new office. And I know I didn't let any smoke out by sparking anything. The poor owner paid $2000 for this system when she took over an office space from the previous owner, and I know it's going to be hard to explain that it's ancient and obsolete.

And is it true that once you power these things down, they loose all programming??? I read that in another forum, Oh, please, God, no....

Thanks for any help, guys.

Brian.

Help, please... GMX-48 System Alarm #18

looks like you might be better off calling up a local vendor with experience.

this system programs with a TI Silent 700 and programming is not easy...

Pickup button not working when a headset is connected

Well, for what it's worth, when I went back today and described the problems to them, they said, "Oh, it's always ben like that".

Problem solved, I guess.
