Location: South Carolina Rep Power: 0 ![]() | OK...first of all...I'm a possible noob because I may be taking another IT job and it's likely they'll want me to assist with their InterTel system. How is it that I always get stuck stradling the IT/TelCo fence? lol Basically, I'm an IT guy who got stuck with a Meridian 1 system almost 2 years ago. I've learned alot in that time about Nortel and TelCo in general. What I'm looking for is opinions on what it'd be like changing gears to an InterTel system. While I am confident that I can do anything I put effort in doing, this is a completely new system to me, so I will have to feel my way at first. I'm sure the UI is COMPLETELY different, but is that good or bad? Any place to acquire some general docs about the system or anything to start getting acquainted with the system? Again, I'm not looking for hand outs or anything...just some decent info on where to start (shy of signing up for classes) and opinons on how much of a culture shock to expect. Thanks

Depending on what version software they have, the programming interface is a point and click Windows GUI. The hardware architecture is simpler too. I worked on BIG IRON systems for many years and found it very easy to transistion to the Inter-Tel Axxess with absolutely zero training from the manufacturer. Good Luck! JP

If it's on a lease it is almost certainly under maintenance. Please follow up on this with me. I once worked at a company where we leased a MITEL PBX from InterTel. I saved that company close to a million dollars by not leasing all the equipment. In short, it is extremely stupid to lease phones, cable installs that sort of thing. Yes I play. That guitar is a Peavey Wolfgang prototype. I could tell you about it but then I'd have to kill all of you. Though not such a big deal now since Eddie Van Halen is no longer with Peavey. I manage the PBX / data circuits and cable infrastructure for Peavey here in Meridian. My guitars are: Peavey Wolfgang Peavey Limited Music Man Axis Sport Fender FrankenStrat (Chandler neck, kahler tremelo, and a Carvin humbucker) My amps are: Peavey TransFex Pro head with two custom made 2x12 speaker cabinets (Peavey speakers of course) Peavey Wiggy with a 2x12 cabinet I like blues, classic rock, and metal. Good to hear from a fellow guitarists. Richard
