| RE: I just ran across this site .. It looks like a Great Place to get Help with Inter-Tel Questions. We have an Axxess system consisting of three KSU pairs (6 cabinets) connected via an ATM switch. Currently on version 6.007 software. The system was installed about a year ago. It's being used in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). It's a little different, considering the mix of independent residential vs. clinical vs. business needs. I think the switch does a very nice job. (I wish the independent resident's didn't have to dial 8 for an outside line, but then how would they dial extensions?) The system is mainly SLC ports (384+) for our residents. There are 36 DLC ports, a Loop Start Trunk card, a T1 PRI card and the standard extras (CPU's, Option card, etc). Inter-Tel CTI group wrote a custom application for us to assist with our attendant needs. They did a GREAT job at a fantastic price, IMHO! Two thumbs up! I do have a couple of outstanding issues however, I'm curious if anyone has any input. 1) After we installed the PBX, we found that our residents could not use Modems on SLC-16 ports. The problem was two fold. a) The SLC-16 port and the modem were fighting over the control of the circuit current. This required us to install a pair of 150 ohm resisters on the line. b) The SLC-16 port had to be in the same KSU pair as the Trunk port. If they were in different KSU pairs, the ATM switch was in the circuit path and the modems would not sync up. (This is a major pain requiring us to re-assign two lines each time someone new moves in and 2) We were told that Inter-tel supported Caller ID on their SLC cards. Which they didn't with version 6 software. Update was suppose to be available soon. (When they do, does anyone know if it will support both Number and Name? For both Internal and External calls?) Thanks in advance for any comments. Russell D. Fort Illinois Masonic Home | ||||||||

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | If you enable any station as a 'House Phone', then program the Day and Night destination as yer 'Outgoing' feature code (default is '8'), AND make sure the Outgoing destination is set for ARS (default code is '9200'), then a user can go off-hook and just dial out w/o the 8. To dial extensions, go off-hook and dial a '*' (star), then dial the extension. The newest s/w version as of now is 9.1XX and that ver supports both name and number caller ID for internal and external calls to single-line stations. You may need to upgrade firmware chips on yer OPC and/or 16 port Single Line Cards as well, but those chips are very inexpensive. My company wouldn't even charge you for them if you purchased an upgrade. As far as the modem transmission over the ATM switches goes, I'm not too sure about that one. ATM should easily support modem transmission and possibly may in the newest s/w versions, but I can't guarantee that... | ||||||||
