So I got the phone system powered up and one of the handsets connected. I am also able to make a terminal connection to the KSU. Through the menu I reset and initialized the device. The handset has a screen and constantly displays "MAJOR ALARM".
I think that I have configured the port properly but I do not see any errors through the terminal, just on the phone.
If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great. The manual gets into specific error codes which I do not see.

If you are still getting an alarm after reset/initialization, then you probably have a wiring probably on the 2nd or 3rd pair of one of the phones.
