IC to voicemail after 4 rings

I've been searching for too long now... Can I setup our system to send unanswered IC calls to voicemail? Right now if I make an IC call and the other person doesn't answer it will ring and ring... until I hang up. Endusers would like a more "conventional" system that automatically sends them to voicemail.

Thanks.
Tim

You make it sound as though outside CP calls already go to voicemail on these endpoints so i will assume that the endpoints already have forwarding paths to voicemail. If this is the case then you would probably just need to look at the forwarding path in DB progamming under system/devices and feature codes/<endpoint involved>/forwarding paths and make sure that the "fwd call type - ic calls" is set to yes.

You would also need to make sure there are no other forward paths that affect IC calls.

Hope this helps!

Mintertel_guy is correct, and I know you mentioned that IC calls ring indefinitely, but I would just add that before you set this system wide, be mindful that this will effectively disable handsfree regardless of the handsfree setting... something that trips a lot of folks up.

This is not a system wide setting it is done per device but you are correct it will disable handsfree.

Thanks - this was exactly right. I'm sure I'll have more feature questions in the future.

Almost there. Now right now it is ringing 8 times before forwarding to VM, how can I change this to 4 or 5 rings? I can't seem to find the right timer.

Forward to voice mail is a system wide timer. This means this will change all phones if you make a change. Look for system forward initiate. It is 15 seconds by default. Is that 8 rings intercom or co ring? 8 intercom is about 4 co rings.

Something you can do to mask the perceived time IC calls ring before forwarding to VM is to change the Different Ringback Cadence Intercom/CO Call flag.

Of course. My intent was to forewarn Quatro that before implementing this as a wholesale change (system wide) to be aware of a hidden implication.
