from what I've heard from Inter-Tel in the UK (and this is very little!) the 7000 has been dropped completely from the EMEA portfolio, existing customers are to be moved on to a 3300 within 18 months and there are no new sales.
Dell are going to sell in the US and 3300 will be pushed a lot more state side.

Also the directors, logistics and warehouse staff have all been made redundant. Some going before christmas and the rest end of Jan

Hi

This came from our regional business manager but as another poster says it may be EMEA only. We have a Mitel / Inter-Tel presentation on the 15th of this month giving us more details of what's actually happening so I will hopefully know more then.

7000

Of course the sales people always know before the rest of us. Looks like the 7000 is doomed and the 3300 will be the lead product. Seems like a great product.

Brother .....where have you been? The 7000 is over with....sold to dell.

Thank God!!! The 7000 is a piece of crap....I am so glad they are going to dump that product. The Mitel product IP product looks to be much better. The problem with Inter-Tel is they to step up with the rest of the world whe it comes to technology. For example: "Stop using windows 2000 workstation as your operating system for your flagship enterprise voicemail" W2k???? Everyone know that Microsoft ended that product a long time a go. Even fresh out of school techs know the stupidity in using w2k. I'll stop...but man that is messed up. I have to install and dodge the bullets for this Vmail.

On a good note the 5000 series rocks! Good OS that has much better security. Pssss....tell them to update the kernel...it's a little old!!!
I'm not very happy that Inter-Tel got bought out. I really like the product and there are some really good people that work at the Chandler Corp office. So many empolyees at Inter-Tel have gone out of they're way to help me solve some huge customer problems

The 7000 was not sold to Dell, there was a deal where Dell was going to market it, you buy a Dell Server and they ask do you want fries with that, but stay tuned.....

Your probably right.....I am in high hopes that they drop that product line since Mitel bought Inter-Tel. I still believe the 7000 is going to be phased out since Mitel is going to be pushing the 3300 and keeping the 5000 from Inter-Tel. I love the 5000.....Linux based, 1U,etc. The 7000 has the windows 2000 Enterprise Voicemail........

Ohhhhh.....let me take a break to laught!!!!

W2K VMail....man that is funny. LOL

Well I am certainly not going to get into a dispute but here goes anyways. The 7000 is a Linux platform itself, was Redhat then switched to Centos. The voice mail (EM) runs on the Systems Manger Box, in this case a server platform, not win 2000. The 7000 not unlike many brand new systems needed time to mature. In smaller deployments it was fine. Larger installs or installs that had special needs had some issues, this was not unexpected for a brand new platform. Given some time like any other new platform Inter-Tel released it would of been solid. Ver 1.0 and the earlier beta was not good but by 1.1 there was great progress made. Look at the track record of the Axxess or the 5000 when they were brand new, it was much the same. Earlier products, the IMX, GMX, clear back to the SPX which was a disaster, not to mention the KeyLux. By the way if Steve Mihaylo was still at the helm, I am sure the 7000 would not of been released when and how it was. All this being said I think the 7000 is a part of history now....

Having that off my chest, I agree the 5000 is a great product, now. When it released it barely sold until we developed the DEI. Now it's hard to keep in stock. Early software had/has some issues, all that were handled by the best of engineers.

I am also certified on the 3300 as well as many Mitel Applications and think it is a great product. Not SIP at the core like the 7000, but certainly a very stable product. We will be pushing the 3300 that is for sure, the 5000 may be molded into the Mitel product line as far as integration goes. The 3300 by the way uses VX Works which with out a doubt is as stable as it gets. All I can hope is the engineers at Mitel work with the Inter-Tel engineers and take the best from both worlds and create the best product possible.

If you don't agree with what I have said here that is certainly your right, these are my opinions. Please don't post a message to tell me I am wrong, because this becomes your opinion, not mine. We should all learn to respect each others opinions not tear them apart. I respect your opinion and if you wish to share it then I will read it and ponder your thoughts.
