Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Dial by name Hi again! I'm looking into setting up an auto attendant whereby people will a DDI then they can enter the surname on their phone or maybe an extension so they can be put through to the relevant person. I've also notices the ASR facility, I guess this is licence specific to work? Can anyone advise me if this is 'do-able' and maybe some guidlines for me to get started with? Thanks.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() ![]() | Your going to create a Call Routing announcement in voice processor/devices/applications/ and then program the digit translation. A couple of tips, if your extension numbers start with a 1, you are going to want to program 1 under digit translation for transfer to collected extension, then assign directory by last name to what ever digit you will use in your call routing announcement. It is easier to come up with the script first and then create the application. Assigning the recording number depends on the type of voice mail, VPU/EM or basic voice mail. __________________ Life is a highway....

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks for the advice.. I've setup a CRA. In digit translation i added 1>Transfer to collected ex 2>Comapny Directory last name My extension numbers start with a 1 and are 4 digits long. When I call the DDI i've allocated to this CRA I press 1 then the 4 digit extension, all I get is this number is not valid. If I press option 1 but then just enter the last three digits (omitting the 1) it works just fine. Is this how it works, or have I messed up somewhere? Also, the dial by last name..when entering the name, is it like predictive text or do i press button '5' three times for the letter 'L'?

Rep Power: 3 ![]() ![]() | For option 1 you do not dial the one but it collects the extension number then transfers you there. Example if the partys extension is 1211 you would dial 1211 when you hear the announcement. You would not dial 1-1211. Dial by last name depends on where you are dialing from. Example, if you call from an intercom extension to dial a S you would press 7, 4 times. Dialing from the telco you would not press 7, 4 times only once. Quote:
