Outbound Caller ID

Got a question about outbound calls...all calls currently go out as the same number/DID...is there a way that select keyset can broadcast their number? ie instead of 6191234500 it would show 6191234567. I would like to know if certain people are calling me

Calling Party Number

Providing the carrier allows this and you have a PRI, and you have a least ver 5.1 or above you can go To System/Device & Feature Codes/Stations(or endpoints on the 5000) select the station that you want and look for the field Calling Party Number. Fill this in with area code-phone-number and that should show up for that stations caller ID.

PRI and Supertrunks are both T1's however the 24th channel is the difference...on a supertrunk its just another channel, however on the PRI its the Caller ID info...

T-1

Well this sounds like a T-1 and the 24th cir on a PRI is the D channel, which carries much more than caller ID. Sounds like you have a T-1 Versus a Primary Rate ISDN circuit.

The local Telco's out here refer to the plain voice T1's as supertrunks...I was almost 100% certain that a PRI was a different flavor of T1 for voice circuits

Local Telco's in different areas refer to T-1 and PRI's with different Names. You are partially correct a PRI rides on a T-1 but it is an ISDN circuit 23B+1D. The Axxess and 5000 support both a T-1 and a ISDN PRI as well as BRI circuits on either the BRS or BRU card, depending on if the BRI circuit is an S interface or U interface, the S does not have NT-1's and the U has NT-1's built in. It's all Good what area are you in?

Memories

I spent a few years there with Uncle Sam back in the late 80's early 90's. Nice place to hang out...
