Cool Voice Mail Greeting Only

Is there a way to create a VoiceMail box that will only have a greeting and does not allow you to leave a message. My goal is to create a phantom number where people can call to hear a status message. Likewise, I thought that a greeting only voicemail would be the best way to permit 3-4 people update the "greeting". Update: Inter-tel says there is no way. My suggestion was to limit the messages to 1 minute then leave a (1) minute message say a person could not leave a message but, now when I call the number I get the message "This mailbox is full" and there is no greeting played.

Voice Mail or CRA

Well there is no way to create a mailbox as you described but you can create a call routing announcement that has a greeting and of course it will not take messages. Then you can create the recording and people can dial in and change the recording at will, provided they have access to the admin mailbox. This should solve your problem. So there is a way who told you there was no way to do this somethines you just have to think a little out of the box.

Stretching the Voicemail Box

I knew that I could do the announcement method. However, I do not want multiple people to have access to the admin mailbox. So, I am thinking of creating an announcement i.e. "You have reached the Operations status line for ... Notice! DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. IT WILL NOT BE RETURNED. AGAIN DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. Then the greeting from the voicemail would be played. I decreased the maximum voice message to total equal (1 minute) then I created a 1 minute message. However, when this is done then one does not even hear the greeting but hears "The voicemail box is full..."
Any more thoughts??

No, the best way would be to do this with a CRA. You can not restrict a voice mail box from getting a message and an extension ID will only play a name and must be associated with something. So you are down to a mailbox and as you found out a full mailbox will tell you that right up front. You are back to
