Cortelco / Diphase Errors
« on: September 22, 2006, 01:45:48 PM »
I have a Cortelco System 3100 PBX that has several station diphase errors. Can anyone help me with what this means and a possible corrective action?

Thanks.

I have a Norstar 4.0 and Startalk. I have 26 DID numbers. Out of the 26 numbers 2 have a problem. Line 155 and 156 flash and ring the stations (207 and 270) one time and then the “mailbox is full” recording is played to the caller and the caller is transferred to the general mailbox. Internal calls work fine.
As a temporary fix I set the AA to answer these two lines and the caller can select the users of station 207 and 270. However, I noticed that the phones still flash and ring once before the call is answered by the AA. Once the AA answers and the caller selects the desired department for station 207 or 270 the call will ring the appropriate station.

Any ideas of what the problem may be? Is a reset in order here and if so what is the proper shutdown procedure for the star talk?

Thanks.

Thanks for you help. I have step-by-step instructions but people seem to want to wander off, then, I have to go back to troubleshoot. And, since I am only a beginner it sometimes takes me awhile to fix the errors. And, of course, nobody will admit playing around in the system or give me an idea what was done.

Is there a way to reset VMS passwords by logging in as an administrator through a telephone?

I have an Option 11C Rel 23. I am currently the only one in my shop trained on this system. However, I am still only a beginner with this system. What I need to do is train others to do voice mailbox administration such as reset password or unlock mailboxes. I need to be careful as some of the techs are new in this field and like to experiment and some may not be as careful as they should be. I have spent days in the past troubleshooting and restoring service from actions taken by those that thought they knew what they were doing.

What is the best way to make this possible without giving access to the rest of the system? Password is still default, as I have not had the nerve to change them yet. So, any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I need help with installing a T1/PRI card.

They system I have is an Axxess/Eclipse version 6. I have 3 nodes with four cabinets in each node networked with T1 card in the first cabinet of each node. These T1 cards were actually configured as E1s.

I plan to install the T1/PRI for an ISDN circuit in the 2nd node card slot 23 as this is the only slot available. Will this work or will I experience problems with the card in the third cabinet?

Also, will the T1s that are configured as E1s for the private network cause any problems with the PRI as far as the clocking of the PRI from the CO and the clocking of the private network E1s?

Finally, under the reference clock list I have the 2 E1 cards listed as master to private network. Where in the list should I place the PRI as slave to public network or does it matter?

Thanks for you help
