Hi,

We have someone hacking into our phone system and using it to dial premium rate numbers. We do not have a password or know / have any software to control the box and our maintenance company has abandoned us with a 10x increase in our monthly phone bill!

Will changing the password stop the hacking? If not, what else can we do? If so, How do I go about changing the password when I don't know what the current one is?

I guess that we may have to abandon having call forwarding enabled, even though we use this for our business currently. How would I turn this off? We have one PC connected with Smartphone software running.

Any help with finding out the current password (probably the default) is and how to change this to something that is secure would be gratefully received!

Thanks in advance

Glyn

You need to take action against your the company that has abondoned you especially if your maintenance contract is current.
Threaten legal action with getting the Passwords for system Admin. If your phones bills are going through the roof because of lack of support then I'm sure you could also take action in this area.
Source a new company to do maintenance for you there are lots of different ways they could be hacking in and dialling premium rate numbers, and as such it is not something you could just start playing around with and try to work out what is going on.
Call forwarding, DISA, Voicemail Box call forarding. If you think they are hacking the password of the machine then disconnect outside access to it - service modem? Network access?
