Greetings,

I've just taken over the administration of a Hicom 150/HiPath 3750 system, and knowing precisely fa about PABX systems, i'm somewhat at a loss to do anything with it.

I've managed to figure out for myself the basic operation through the master handset(E memory), however i can't seem to access some features through it, specifically voicemail administration. I need to reset a users voicemail password for them.

I have noticed on the box itself there are two serial ports that look hopeful, one at the rear of the box which is a v.24 DB25 port. the second is located on an add-in card and is a DB9 port. However hooking up a null modem to either and firing up minicom yields nothing at all. not a sausage.

I've also read around on google and heard a lot of talk about being able to telnet into these machines, although i can't seem to determine the IP address that the system is using, or where to start looking for it.

Is it possible to use either one of the two serial connectors or the LAN itself to interface with this system or am i wasting my time here?

Duran,

You can access the first V.24 interface (DB9) on the CBCPR from the front of the basic cabinet or second V.24 I/F (DB25) via the backplane of the basic cabinet (X7).

If you know an IP address, you can access from the LIM (LAN I/F module).

DB9, DB25 with a null modem or LAN connection can be used for administration via HiPath 3000 Manager E.

Thanks, I've managed to access the admin console through the manager software, but the only login i have for the system is a Customer level account, meaning i can't administer the voicemail systems anyway. i've tried the default users 39924 and 633423 both with and without a password and both have been removed. is there any way i can reset the admin passwords without overwriting the database?

If a user forgets or do not know their password, they must be deleted from the system by another authorized user and reconfigured.
If the last authorized user also forgets or do not know their password,
the communication system has to be regenerated.

Default user and password for service group is ##### and #####.
