Red face Inherited Rolm 9751 and Siemans Hicom 300h.

I just sort of "landed" in this telcom position. The guy who was in it before me bailed, no training. I'm a tech and picking things up quick but this is a monster of a system. Any tips on getting started and finding out how this system runs?

Thx

I have Siemens Configuration and EMML Reference Manual for the ROLM 9751 CBX. I don't see anything "laying around" for the Hicom. Actually I don't really know what each component is / does. Care to clarify? And direct me to a book?

The 9751-9004/9005/9006m (Models 10,20,40,50 and 70) was a IBM/ROLM product with its own hardware and the Motorola processor. The switch you have was SOLD as a 9751-9006i (model 30 or 80)in the US market but really was a Siemens HCM300 in disguise with totally different hardware and the Intel processor. The software you have is V6.6 which under the old naming convention would be 9006.6i (Siemens dropped the 9751 naming and went back to the HiCoM 300 to make it universal...but its NOT the same as a REAL 9751 CBX).

You need to talk to it in TL1 code or use their GUI interface software. Did you get the info you were looking for?

Thanks. Yes I found an admin manual.

Thanks for explaining the system in detail, it helps me a great deal in putting this puzzle together.
I have LC-Win. Been learning some AMO dialog commands.
I am learning everything I know by trial error and when something breaks, I try to fix it.
Guess I like a challenge!
