What are you trying to do with the HG1500 or/and exchange server? Are you trying to have unified messageing, or something else? If you are going to unified messaging what type of voice mail do you have?

HiCom 150: Older discontinued Siemens system

HiPath 3000: A family of Siemens systemes that are the current models. In the USA they come in:

HiPath 2000
HiPath 3300/3350 (XX50 means it is wall moutned)
HiPath 3500/3550
HiPath 3700/3750 (discontinued and replaced by 3800)
HiPath 3800
HiPath 5000
HiPath 4000
HiPath 8000

Yes i am trying to have unified messaging , the voice mail is going to do the exchange server 2007

What i do not understand with the names of Siemens is that sometime they refer to the 150 as the hipath 3000 the way i understand this is that hipath is the software / firmware on the hicom or is this wrong

thanks

Hicom is the old model of system. The programming and end user use is very similar between the HiCom and HiPath systems, a good amount of hardware (cards, phones, etc.) is also backward compatable between the HiPath and HiCom systems, but not all hardware is the same or compatible by any means. But, in essence, no the HiCom is not the same thing as a HiPath system. HiPath 3000 is only the name of a family of systems, there is no such thing as a HiPath 3000 system (they are 3300/3350, 3500/3550, 3700/3750 and 3800). The cabinets are different and the HiPath generally use the OptiPoint 500 phones, not Optiset E phones, though a HiCom and HiPath can support both phones if it is equipped with the right cards, but the HiCom was mainly designed with OptiSet E phones in mind. A HiCom cannot be upgraded to a HiPath by software or firmware downloads, if that helps to clarify.

As for cards...make absolutly sure you get the correct version for your system . There are many versions of HG1500 and other cards that will not work with on a system running a different version than the card.

yes, i now also know it is a Hicom 150 E Office Point (SLU8, STLS4) using Hipath Manager E 3000 to configure.

I also know that it is possible to use my PBX with Exchange Server 2007 but i need an analoge Access Gateway from Audiocodes.com to get it going.

Now i have an other question:

1. Would you recommend me using this PBX ?
2. What do you think of the Hipath 3500 ?
3. Do i also need a gateway with the Hipath 3500

Ok, so what are you trying to do again? Unified messaging and genrally anything using exchange server is going to be through the voice mail, not the PBX (though it depends)or analog cards/gateways. What type of voice mail are you using on that PBX?

1. I think it is a fine system; use it if it fits your needs.
2. I like the 3550 even better, not to mention it is the supported product from Siemens now.
3.It depends on what you are trying to do. What would you be using the gateway for? Are you doing IP or something?
