HiCom 300E Move

We are looking at the possibility of moving our HiCom 300E to another building on our business campus. Besides loop start trunks we have SBC PRI and AT&T T1 E&M circuits. We have Xpressions Voicemail, an overhead paging system and approximately 500 stations. I have cut over a few systems in my time but never moved a PBX to another building and expected it to startup where it left off. My main concern is the lines from the street. If we can't extend them through our own wiring from the present demarcation point due to distance limitations then we will have to have SBC and AT&T relocate them. Has anyone done this? If so with what level of success.

Planning makes perfect, Welcome to the site EZ_Pickin's.
Is the new area for your phone system grounded properly? Are the cables tested and labeled correctly?(that will save you hours of frustration).

Extending a T1 is not too hard but sometimes you can run into a lot of interference, what kind of cable will the extensions be run on? What is the length of the run?

Is their currently over head paging in the new building? if not you will have to rerun wiring for your existing system.

Also if you need to have AT&T or SBC come out, make sure you get a hold of them soon. Scheduling can sometimes be weeks before they can get out there.

Are you moving the 500 phones yourself or are your users moving them with their own stuff? I would recommend you do it or you will probably have a lot of employees thinking they can use them at thier houses.

Also make sure you have a bunch of extra line cord/(Silver Satins) because sometimes getting them out from behind cubicules or large desks is a royal pain and its just better to leave them their.

let us know.
