Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The company that installed our system has left us out to dry and isn't much help. Overnight, something happened with our vmail system and the prompts are all wrong. Nothing was changed by myself or anyone else in the company (no-one else has access). When I called the company that installed the system, they mentioned something about checking/editing settings through the phone because you can't make certain changes through the website (elitemail). They never left us any instructions or guides on how to get into the system via the phone. I do know the ID and password, just not how to get into it. I've downloaded and read alot of the guides available from NEC, but none that's I've seen covers what I need to do. If the docs do make mention, it's "dial into the system and use your ID to..."; not much help. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to log in to the phone (vmail) system from a phone? thanks

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | When you say the 'prompts' are wrong do you mean that the main greeting needs to be re-recorded or that the options (press1 for XXX press 2 for XXX) are not going to the correct places. Please explain. I think I can help you. D __________________ NEC NTAC 1 800 852 4632 http://www.necntac.com http://www.2000stuff.com http://ipk2stuff.com/

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Yes, the main prompt was not playing, "thanks for calling....press 1 for... press 2 for...". it immediately went to a prompt to leave a voice mail. Fortunately, the installing company got back to me and fixed it that night. I know the tech was trying to get into the Linux back end because he couldn't diagnose/fix it from the front end. He ended up getting in touch with NEC for support. I'm waiting for an explanation as to how this might have happened and how we can avoid it in the future. I also want to know what they did to fix it. thanks for the reply and if you can think of how this happened, I'd like to hear about it.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Usually when I've seen this happen someone is trying to re-record the main greeting and does not save the changes or hangs up on the VM. This will usually wipe out the main message. If it was something else please share your solution so others can look it up here. Also make sure when posting again to let us know you have a Linux based VM, the setup on this VM is quite different from the standard windows or DOS based VM's NEC makes.
