NEC Phone System

Our company uses an old NEC Electra Elite 192 multi-line phone system. After a few staff change-overs, it's become a bit of a problem -- no one knows how to use the darn phones anymore! There are functions (like changing administrative rights/blocking some numbers etc) that we'd like to be able to use but can't.

NEC and retailers won't even touch it -- the system is just too old.

But someone suggested looking for an old manual.

You guys are technologically inclined, right???

HELP!

I did a Google search on your machine name and got nearly 8,000 links. Here is one but since I do not know anything about your system, I do not know if the manuals they reference are relevant.

Thank you so much Marty! I did the same thing. But as per NEC, the IPK machine is NOT the same as the 192.

The Elite 192 has the EXACT SAME programming as the IPK, there are only a couple of differences and they would not be involved in what you're doing.

Find a new NEC dealer.

I upgrade 192 systems to IPK all the time, same cabinet, same cards, different cpu and slightly different software.

I've actually just installed a 192 last week.

If it ain't broke, don't replace it. Your dealer is probably setting you up for trying to sell you 'all new modern' stuff, don't fall for it.

Try locating a new dealer here:

Too true Doghart! As a NEC Elite, IPK Basic and IPK 2 basic and IPK 2 Advanced certified tech, I would say that 90% of the business's (Small to medium business's that is) out there can get away using the Elite 192 it still is a great little cabinet, capable of doing a majority of the tasks its new brethern are capable of, if it is ok Daghart being a moderator and all I'd like to offer "Amanda 1980" some manuals, if it not ok let me know and I'll no longer offer manuals.
