Unhappy Neaxmail LX default password??

One of my techs installed an elitemail LX (linux) at a customer site and is now on vacation and un-reachable for the next 5 days.

Customer is having an issue and I cannot figure out the default login password. I know the user name is $NEC but can't figure out the password.

I can get to the VM login screen through TCPIP, but don't know how to proceed from there. There doesn't seem to be any docs on the NTAC website except a user guide and a software patch.

Once I get logged in I'm sure I can figurer it out from there.

Anyone help me out??

I tried to program the DSS buttons by dialing 751 (the key to be programmed) dialed 01+extension+hold twice. The instruction book says dial 00 to clear the key. And now the red light continues to flash not only on my phone but on the other phone I was trying to program. How do I clear this and get the red lights off???

You seem to be talking about an IPK 2.

Not sure how your post wound up in my voicemail thread, but I will try to help you.

If you are programming DSS keys on open buttons on your phone, the IPK2 system process is this:

1) Dial 751
2) push the button to be programmed
3) dial 01
4) dial the station number of the phone you wish to have a DSS button of
5) press hold ONCE

6) press the next button to be programmed or press speaker button to exit.

The reason the lights flash.... hmmm not sure. I think this is because the station you have programmed on DSS key is in CFI (Call Forward Immediate) or in DND mode.

Typically to clear a button I just dial 751, the button, 01 then speaker.

If the red light that is flashing you are talking about is the MSG light on the top right corner of the phone then do this:

At the top the phone, just under the display are the soft keys. Press the button marked 'EXIT' then the display will change, push the button under MW (message waiting), then press the button marked 'clear?' then the button marked 'all'. These buttons will appear in the softkey on the display of the phone after you press 'exit'.

Was this helpful?
