Hotline

I programmed some hotlines to ring each other. I'm trying to figure out how to make the hotlines so that they do not receive any incoming calls other than its AUL assigned. I know that I have to build a new NCOS for this. Can someone help me?

They already are set up as AUL. How do I create a virtual number?

forgive me if I cannot remember this completely but am doing it by memory.
what is your dn block ie:555-2000 thru 3000.
in other words what number are you setting as the AUL doesnot have to be exact just for reference.

I had used 2 plus ext for all calls , in this case you could use say 7 plus ext as a suedo number.

did this help or confuse you more?

you are confusing me, I thought to make virtual numbers you had to make changes in Tables IBNXLA, HNPACONT, and DNROUTE???

All you need to do is add an entry in TOFCNAME for your new virtual or phantom number. Once you add the NPA-NXX to TOFCNAME you will be able to assign the number in Servord. You do not need to update IBNXLA if you do not want these numbers dialable.

For example, say we have our primary NNX as 724. We use alot of "roll lines" but do not want to use up DID numbers. We have entries in TOFCANAME for 114, 124, 134, 144 etc. We use phantoms that are not likely to be a valid NNX. In this example, Line one may be 724-4321, line 2 will then be 124-4321, line 3 134-4321 etc.

rhack,

This sounds more of what I am looking for. I tried it, but it did not work. I get one of my DRAM Recordings. Are you sure that there are no other tables to be filled like HNPACONT or STDPRTCT?

What DRAM are you getting? Did you add the entry to TOFCNAME? Did you program a phantom number and try to dial it? I am guessing you are getting a non-working number dram because you do not have an entry in IBNXLA.

For example if you want everyone to be able to dial the phantom number internally you would need an entry for your customer translator similiar to the following:
CTN1 114 EXTN Y Y 212 114 7 $ $ (212 is NPA, 114 is phantom NNX)

This is setup for 7 digit dialing btw.

I'm getting DRAM (the number you are dialing is not in service). I added entry to TOFCNAME i.e. 314 176 $.
I programmed 2 phantom numbers 1761000 and 1761001 to ring each other and when I pick up the handset I get the DRAM recording. Are there certain options for phantom numbers that I have to enter?

Nevermind on options for phantom numbers.

I added to IBNXLA:
CT1 176 EXTN Y Y 314 176 7 $ $
It is working this way, 1761000 and 1761001 can ring each other. The only problem is my regular NPA-NNX 276 can dial the 176. How can I stop 276 from dialing 176? I just want 176 to ring each other.
