Re: Avaya Certified Associate

It depends. If you have a Prologix, no. If you have a G3si or G3i, yes. That is where the flashcard goes, that is your backup device. Very important! If you have a G3r, no.

On a newer switch that once used a TN777, it has been replaced by a different card.

To give an exact answer, we need to know what model of Definity you have and the release number.

If you can't turn it on yet, what is the processor you have? That will give us a start.

What did you do, buy it off ebay? Normaly you would purchase a PBX from a vendor that can support it.

This is a good point. If you got it from ebay, or a swap meet, or auction, or moved into a building that it was abandoned in, all you have is the hardware. The software and license is not transferable.

If you bought it from a vendor authorized to sell Avaya equipment, you should have all the parts it needs.

There is no way to transfer the license with Avaya? What do you guys do with your old equipment and de-installs?

The license is not transferable but the hardware is. I can sell the the equipment to anyone but that person now needs to contact Avaya to get their own license.
