Hi Guys,

Needed your help, do you happen to use ASA to manage this new voicemail systems. I know it uses SSH but i have an error"Access via this login is only available through the web, ADAP or console". Can somebody direct how to configure this ASA to use for LX administration.

tx,
ed

G3 error codes

In my experience, ASA cannot be used to administer an LX. I spoke to someone at Avaya about this once and the answer was "You can do it through a web browser, why bother using an application when you can do it like that?".

Got to love Avaya....

I want to use ASA because I still have to use it for Definity Admin! Plus it's a hell of a lot faster than the web interface..

VoIP Problems

I agree completely. Since the Audix LX using ASA to adminster voicemail has gone away. Why, I don't know, unless they can't figure out how to implement the SSH connection within ASA itself. It used to be so easy...simply log in and toggle back and forth between the PBX and Audix windows. With the way technology advances, you'd think it'd be a no-brainer to implement the functionality of both into one application. Then again, we "common people" are not the ones in charge...

Lots of people asked this question. There`s an issue of opening a specific port to manage the LX through ASA. But because of the fact that there is a webserver on the LX this is the only good way to manage the system. So i guess you have to get use to the web interface.

You are correct you can use ASA but AVAYA need to open the port for you.

To make the login screen appear much faster on the web interface:
In the WinXP on Firewall setings you must on bookmark "exception" adding port TCP number 113.
