Let me start off by saying that I am a newbie to the world of Avaya. I have an IP Office 403 and needed to upgrade it so I went to Avaya's site and pulled down the software. I loaded the software on a machine and lo and behold it automatically saw my existing IP Office403. My intention was to upgrade, so I went to the upgrade manager. It told me I was on version 2.0(9) and that 3.0(40) was available. I chose to upgrade. After a few moments it told me the upgrade had failed and that one or more of the components had failed to upgrade.

Now I can not even ping the box and looking at it physically it has the red status light rather than the nice green one. Obviously the upgrade failed. Reading back through the documentation it looks like I needed to do a two step upgrade. (Dohhhhhh....hindsight is always good like that). The good thing is the box is not really in production so it is not an immediate crises, but still.......How the heck do I recover? Can I get in through the DTE connection on the back and do some manual commands? If so is there a doc I should be looking at to do this or are the steps simple enough that someone out there could spell them out in this forum?

Thanks,

bigbadbillyc

Here is an Avaya link to help recover your system. Don't forget to set the subnet mask correctly!! http://support.avaya.com/elmodocs2/i...aintenance.pdf

I think to upgrade from 2.0 up you may have to go back to the 1.9 file. Not sure.
Good luck.

Magix Reset to factory defaults?

Thanks,

I needed to go to 2.99 before I could go to 3.0. I am up and running now.
