We have a Definity G3i with release 6 software. Our night service goes to a guard station. Sometimes the operator does not get to the switchboard by 7:30 am to take the console out of night service. I've been asked if there is a way at 7:30 to change the night service to another extension. Is it possible to do this? We are looking to have a time of day type of night service.

Do you have attendant vectoring?
How does the call get to the guard station? Is it coming from the night destination of the trunk or the 'listed directory number'?

There is a button on the console for night service but I cannot find where this is programmed. We do have an ACD for our help desk and we use vectoring there.

It's been a while but the night service button itself is programmed on the console form.

The destination I believe is either on the ch list form or on the hunt group page itself.

Now...time of day routing...

You can have the trunk group send incoming calls to a VDN which points to a vector...inside the vector you can hard code time of day routing (between 5PM - 5AM the call rings to a security checkpoint, from 5:01AM to 8:00AM the call rings to another person, from 8AM-5PM the calls ring to the console).

If you're feeling creative, try leaving the day destination as is and send the NIGHT SERVICE destination (on page one of the trunk group form) to a previously described vector).

8300 & one way audio

Type 'display Listed' to see if there is a 'night destination there of the guard station. If not there, then 'display Trunk xx' and see if there is a night destination there. And 'list vdn' and see if there is one that titled 'attendants'.

Octel 250 to Iwatsu Adix ?

Display listed shows one LDN of 2550 with night des of 1416 which is the guard shack
Display trunk has night service as 3888 which is hunt group called night attendant
List VDN shows nothing for the attendant.

With this information what is my next step?

Add a vdn. Title it "Night Service". Create a vector with time of day routing which forwards calls as desired. Tie the VDN to the vector.

On the trunk form, change the Night Service Destination from 3888 to your new VDN.

Good Luck!

Let me know if it solved the problem for you (I'm pretty sure it will).
