Trainng

I think I am on the right track but just wanted some confirmation
Here the issue
My boss in the IT dept ordered a new block for DID #’s 570-6600 thru 6699

Now we already have a bunch of DID numbers 570-1800 thru 1899 and 570-2600 thru 1699.

Now when I assign 6600 to my test phone in the switch I can’t hit it by dialing 570-6600
But if I assign it an 18xx number I can dial to it just fine.

I am thinking I need to verify with the ILEC that the new numbers are pointed at the same CKT as the existing DID numbers and that they did not bring in a hole new CKT

Am I on the right track?

I do know how to display the trunk info.

But is there a way to monitor the DID trunk and see what digits are coming from the CO?

Adding Group of DID’s

You could try a list trace but I'm guessing you'll get farther working with the LEC to determine what digits are being sent. I would have assumed the last 4 of the DID number myself...

Well I know that,
Like I said the other Did numbers work with the same prefix i.e. 570-18xx
but 570-66xx does not work,
Do I do a list trace on that trunk that the DID now come in on?
When I go to list trunk-group it gives me all the trunks the DID comes in on # 2 with a TAC #72
What does TAC #72 mean?

TAC = Trunk Access Code

If the field and your COR are setup correctly you can dial the trunk access code and then your number to go out on that trunk (thus bypassing ARS...this is a bad thing to let your users get a hold of).

FYI The list trace would be list trace TAC ####

I figured it out the" list trace TAC ####"

And am able to see the digits comming from the ILEC I am going to have to get with them cause I don't see 66xx which is suposed to be our next set of DID's

Thanks
