Currently have Legend, upgrade to Magix, or go with Mitel?

I'm in the process of looking at upgrading our Merlin Legend R7 to a Magix, and expanding everything. I have seen some incredibly low prices on refurbished Merlin equipment on Ebay. Our local Avaya dealer cautioned against purchasing refurb equipment, as the processor, and voicemail, etc all had activation codes, and without those codes through an authorized dealer, the equipment would not work.

Is there any truth to this, or am I being lied to, in order to keep me purchasing new equipment?

There are no activation codes that I know of for the Legend. The Magix may be different but I doubt that since they are so similar.

If you go to a Definity, then there are licenses for ports, agents, etc. But you mentioned that you were doing a upgrade to magix. You could contact your local Avaya sales rep and ask if there are any codes to purchase when buying a Magix system and see what they say.

Good Luck,
