Caller ID sporadic

We currently have a Merlin Legend with 48 analog & 8 digital extensions. We need to upgrade the system, as we're currently at capacity in our cabinet.

One provider is giving us the option to upgrade to the Magix, we add a second cabinet, and using clamshells, keep our existing extension cards, add a real voicemail (Had a lousy PC 486 based voicemail before), and add a couple analog & a 24 port modern digital extension card.

For about the same cost, we can get a Mitel SX 200 ICP, which will give us the same digital/analog extensions, and has IP capabilities right in the switch.

Do I have any reason to not go with the Mitel product here?

I worked at a company where we had a Mitel SX2000. Started with 100 users and grew it to about 750. Started running out of gas at that point. Switched to a G3r.
I really like the Mitel. It just didn't have the horsepower of a G3r. You are obviously not in that same situation.... I like Avaya equipment, though in regards to initial equipment cost and ongoing support, it has got to be the most expensive platform to use at just about any level. I haven't worked with Mitel for about 6 years but I would seriously consider them in your situation. Would you be getting it directly from Mitel or a vendor who sells their product?

It would all be through local vendors. I'll be familirizing myself with whatever product we eventually get, and I'll do all administration, and expansions beyond the inital install myself.

OK
Reason I asked was that, as you probably know, the vendor is as important as the name on the product. So, you need feel confident about the vendor. Have them give you names of a few customers that have bought the system and check on them.
