| I am new to the PBX administration. I will be going to my frist Avaya Training next week. We have a Definity G3i V11. I need to change the order that the Caller ID information is sent. I need the Extention to be sent first then the Name. Can this be done and how? We are trying to integrate it with Oracle Voicemail and Fax. Alliance Systems setup a CT server with Intel NetMerge CCS 3.0, but it is only sending the Name field from the Caller ID to the Oracle VM App. I called Alliance Systems and asked them to configure the NetMerge CCS software to map the extention data to the Oracle application. Allance Systems says that NetMerge CCS can't do that because it is a limitation of the software. They recomended that I change how the PBX sends the data. Oracle suggest that I put the extention info at the start of the Name field of the station on the Definity. I don't like Oracle's suggestion. Plus Oracle requires that limit my entries to 15 char. so that means that I will have shorten peoples names. TIA for any help -Herb | ||||||||

Location: Tolland, CT Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Caller ID Swap Name/Extention Herb, Where are you going to training? I'll be in Altamonte Springs, FL for Communications Manager Administration training next week.... With regards to your question, when I was using a voice gate system I had to put the extension number into the label field in order for the unit to route an unanswered call to the correct mailbox....have you tried this? I'm not familiar with the other solution you are using...

| Hi Sjforcum, I am going to the Avaya Communication Manager Basic Administration BTE221H2-SM0246 in Altamonte Springs so maybe I will see you there. As far as putting the ext in the label field. I am being told that I have to put the ext in the Name field. When I do that the Voicemail gets routed correctly, but if I do this then I have to cut the user's name because I have to keep everything 15 char or under. Here is what my station looked like before I made the change: ================================================== ============================= display station 2621 Page 1 of 5 ================================================== ============================= STATION Extension: 2621 Lock Messages? n BCC: 0 Type: 8411D Security Code: TN: 1 Port: 01A0307 Coverage Path 1: 504 COR: 2 Name: CASTILLO, HERBERTO Coverage Path 2: COS: 1 Hunt-to Station: STATION OPTIONS Loss Group: 2 Data Option: analog Speakerphone: 2-way Display Language: english PassageWay? n Loss Group: 2 Personalized Ringing Pattern: 2 Data Option: analog Message Lamp Ext: 2621 Speakerphone: 2-way Mute Button Enabled? y Media Complex Ext: IP SoftPhone? n +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is after I made the change: ================================================== ============================= display station 2621 Page 1 of 5 ================================================== ============================= STATION Extension: 2621 Lock Messages? n BCC: 0 Type: 8411D Security Code: TN: 1 Port: 01A0307 Coverage Path 1: 504 COR: 2 Name: 2621 Herb Coverage Path 2: COS: 1 Hunt-to Station: STATION OPTIONS Loss Group: 2 Data Option: analog Speakerphone: 2-way Display Language: english PassageWay? n Loss Group: 2 Personalized Ringing Pattern: 2 Data Option: analog Message Lamp Ext: 2621 Speakerphone: 2-way Mute Button Enabled? y Media Complex Ext: IP SoftPhone? n ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ -Herb | ||||||||

Location: Tolland, CT Rep Power: 6 ![]() | That's the class I'm in as well. See you there! With regards to your situation...I don't personally know of a work around...unless your voice mail solution can work with mode code integration. I struggled for a while with our Voice Gate situation because quite frankly I hated the extension appearing twice on displays, etc. It also makes your directory functionality unusable. See you Monday.

Location: Netherlands Rep Power: 4 ![]() | you could try something called client room. you have to assign a COS to that feature and assign the COS to the station. After that you can put in the field ROOM the extension. Its worth a try. Other options besides that one, are not realy available as far as my little brains can remember. Good luck you guys, at your administration training. You will be amazed of the features of CM in relation to Definity.

Location: Tolland, CT Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I'm pretty much into Comm. Manager (we've been running it since August 04). I'm primarily going for the paper and to see if I'm doing everything to spec....doesn't hurt that the course is in Orlando, FL and I'm leaving 6-12 inches of fresh snow behind
