Send a message via MSN to greggd4
Ring Down

I am trying to determine if there is a way to have the message waiting light follow an agent if they move from station to station on a daily basis. I am able to create an agent ID with a DID number and a coverage path that directs the call directly to that agent ID to voice mail. This works regardless of station on which the agent logs in. I can not get the message waiting indicator to follow the agent automatically. Has anyone ever done this, is there a way to do this, or am I barking up the wrong tree.

Thanks

Gregg

The problem is there is no way to tell the voicemail that the ext has changed that it is turning the light on and off. This would have to be done in the PBX so if the ext number can be linked to the agent ID it would work i have never seen it done

no this realy can not work. The agent id is something the messaging software does not know about. The only way you can use the MWI (message waiting indicator) is by extension.

Maybe you can explane what you exactly would like acomplishe with your action to give every employee a personal voicemailbox, based on agent login-id.

No, this can work fine as long as the agent extension is a DID and is in the allowed subscriber range in Audix.

Just make sure that LWC Reception = audix and AUDIX Name for Messaging = Audix in the agent setup. Also, the MWI, Audix name, and Messaging server name should be blank in the station setup.

Hope this helps. If not, let me know and I'll post a sample of my configs.
