New year greetings to evryone ......

anyone know about a voicemail system which can be integrated with definity g3r...i dont want to go for avaya sponsored intuity since i just need a system which can cater my management ie around 20 to 30 ppl

currently i have downloaded a free utility ( a pc based voice mail system )

the soft is installed on a windows computer and an anlog ext of avaya is pluged into the modem at com port ........the analog ext is defined as coverage ext for all the extensions who wants to use voice mail system

now the prob is messages for all the extension gathered at one place and ther is no way to distingish which messge is for whom

anyone one know of any such utility ??

Check your sound card.

I might able to use the Avaya Modular Messaging with Microsoft Exchange. You get more features and business application for your money.

maybe you can do something with a thing called mode-code-integration. that means that commands like extension number will be inputted to the voicemail system in dtmf format through the voice ports. The one important link you are missing right now is the processor link. therefore you need a dedicated system or something generic like octel

I would advice a real messaging system anyway. I think the modular messaging is much more expensive than an intuity.

There are plenty of third party voice mail systems out there. In the past my company used VoiceGate. It's overall cost is much lower than an Intuity and it works for what it is. Our version (admittedly it was quite old...VIP4000) did not really offer much in the way of administration or management...it basically functioned like a big answering machine...but again at the end of the day it worked.

With regards to mode code integration, that is a RTU on the switch if memory serves correctly (I could be confusing it with an RTU on the Intuity however). But if you have the propoer RTU setup, it's not a bad integration method....it actually works quite well...
