I have S8700 and about 100 4602 installed thruout 3 remote locations with G700/LSP. Whenever, the phone loses connection to the clan it's registered to it also lose the vlan information and keep saying "discovering" on the display.

Has anyone seen this before?

Avaya reseller

Make sure you update the firmware of the IP phones, by doing so, you'll have to setup a dedicated TFTP server for the IP phones. Also, make sure that the WAN is stable and not loosing its connection to the PABX.
Whenever an IP phone restarts due to network connection time out, sometimes it could no longer upload its firmware.

must be a firmware issue, only when the phone looses power it will boot in native vlan mode.
