How do you change the autoattd msg on a Lucent Definity

OK The auto attendant greeting is the same as any other greeting. Just log into the Audix voice mailbox for the auto attendant greeting and choose option 3 to re-record a greeting.

With regards to day / night, let me set one up today and I'll post the details.

Definity-Dialogic Integration

Thanks for the reply, but could you give some more detail as far as the codes to access the VM-AutoAttd. I have been in the business since 1979 and understand how it works, I just do not know the access numbers and pswds.

Thanks

OK.

You'll need to log into the voice mail system. Assuming it's an Audix voice mail, you'll use the ch su XXXX (XXXX= the auto attendant extension).

Haven't had a chance to test the after hours stuff. Maybe Monday.

Good Luck!

Steve

Thanks again for the reply steve,

However, although this must be like the college prof. talking to the the kindergarden, I have more questions. I understand the xxxx, is there a default vm autoattd station ext. / port, is there a default login name ( ie admin ) and password. Do you dial the vm ext or group and then dial an access code to reach the admin. what is "ch su".

Do you offer or know where I could just get some telephone support to make this change to the recording and for future maintenance support?

Thanks, Howard

PS, if you ever need help with panasonic systems, I can help.

Whisper Tones

I have a Definity Audix 3.2

In my system you would log into Audix. Type in list attendants and it will bring you up a list of all the attendants running. Hopefully they are clearly marked with Day Attendant, Night Attendant and so on.

On that line you will see the extension associated with it. You can then pull up change attendant xxxx and you should be able to see that the voice mail greeting is either the same extension as the attendant or possibly under another extension.

Then go to ch sub xxxx and change the password to what you want it to be.

Then go to a phone and dial into Audix. Enter the extension to the mailbox/auto attendant, the password you changed it to and you are good to go on changing the voice mail greeting.

Make sure you write it down for later reference.

Hope that helps! Rhonda

Are you sure the auto attendant is in voice mail - it might be in a vector - that is entirely different PROBLEM if it is. You say you want to change the msg - you also have to change the programing on the auto att screen to match what you are saying in the message if you are changing the prompts. Ex press 1 for sales - if this is new or if the place that press 1 is changing you have to change programing.

Depending on the version of Audix you have thier are other screens that may need to
changed as also. Auto att routing is one of them and their are other screens within this choice. Night numbers on the PBX have to MATCH the numbers you have on this screen or night service won't work. This is not simple or easy to do as you are finding out. You can always call Avaya 800-242-2121 and for a BIG FEE they will help you through this.

If you don't do it right you will only make a bigger mess that will cost more to fix in the
long run. I hope this helps a little.
