Location: Western NC Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Avaya Newbie How many of you have a maintenace agreement with Avaya?? I'm fixing to sign the papers for a Remote Parts Plus which will give me support for alarms automatically, replacement parts if I know how to install them or pay for service, and some limited tech support as long as it doesn't involve them doing the work. Cost $1G a month for about 450 total ports between my Definity Audix and the G3Si. I'm cutting over to a PRI and have to create a trunk group and all the other junk that goes with it. Have to plagerize from other switches and that's no gaurantee I'll get it right. Other wise we pay to get it done. This wouldn't be covered under the agreement. Opinions?

Location: Tolland, CT Rep Power: 7 ![]() | I have a maintenance agreement in place with my business partner. It was included free of charge with our recent Communications Manager upgrade. I monitor my own switches, so that's a moot point. There is a great product out on the net called AlarmTrax which not only monitors but can respond to certain alarms with pre-assigned tests. Over the past year, we made a decision to go without maintenance and it paid off to the tune of about $50K in savings between 4 sites. It's a gamble, but the switches are rock solid.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Monitoring Avaya IP Office If you also want to monitor other makes and models of PBX's, check out ReliaTel. Supposedly, they can do Avaya, Nortel, Siemens, Ericsson, etc. They claim they can also monitor data equipment...all in one single application. www.reliatel.com

| Avaya Site Administration with VOIP monitor is just a name We have the full blown 24x7 contract on our s8700 ip-connect. It's helped at times. The techs I talk to for the 3 in the morning alarm pages tend to be tier 1 at best. Are you in a major demo with the 2hr parts or rural with the 4 hour response time? We qualify as rural, but they've yet to have a part to us in 4 hours. It's usually always next day around noon. We recently had an announcement board go out that took until next day to get a replacement By they way, Hello all. I'm new here. I'm a telecom admin for a Carlson Companies branch here in Boise, Idaho. Ran across this site and thought I'd learn and share a bit when I could. TocSin | ||||||||
