Basic Traffic Analysis

You can use ASA or DSA Trunk analysis tool to tell you, just setup ASA to dial into your switch nightly and pull the information and in a couple of days you can get an acurate pickture of how many trunks you need to have to maintain a certain Grade of Service.

Problem on AVAYA G3r upgraded to S8700

Use the erlang table. 36 CCS = 1 erlang (telco companies have this)

you also need to establish the the GOS or the Grade of Service, this is the acceptable blocking/delayed rate based on the total no# of incoming calls.

if your going to have the actual computation, you'll definitely have a hard time looking for the formula.

if you can't get a erlang table, suggest you use this;

http://www.dcss.mcmaster.ca/~qiao/pu...newerlang.html

just input the erlang value and GOS.

Hope this will be of any assistance to you.
