deal all, im a technician and is quite new to avaya media servers. as many of our customer would like to change the config of their definity/s8300/s8700 servers at non-office hr. i wld like to ask i can schedule some tasks using asa or the like so that i can do the job beforehand. also, i wanna know if i can remotely connect to the servers, after the scheduled time, to verify the changes. is it true that i can do so via modem connection? generally the changes include types of phone set, port location, phone features, ... (all the common changes for a common client)

pls help, thanks. please tell me for unclear part of my question, if any.

For some requests - Yes

Yes

Yes. You could also go in through a VPN & IP connection should your switches be IP enabled (I'm guessing you are).

You should be able to scedule each of those with the change user function. NOTE: You'll need to leave the ASA machine turned on to do this....

ooops, if i wanna change the config offline, i suppose task scheduling doesn't support it, rite?
as im expected to do so, im now studying the data import/export function. i gotta try if i can (1)dump the old config, (2)modify it OFFLINE, (3)and then apply it some time later.

any comment on this solution? any drawback in using it?? any other means i can use???
i found ASA only supports abt 10 data objects in its import/export feature. including station, coverage path, vdn, vector, etc. but i wonder what can i do on those not supported, e.g., dialplan, ARS...

thx all~

I am afraid that you cannot modify any Multi Vantage sytems offline.
If the items you want to change are not in the Import/export list then you can only change it manually or with Provision.
