I am in need of assistance with a Vacant DID issue.

We have a 8300 with a PRI from Allstream. When I have extension that are not in use rather than recalling to the attendant they get a message the number is not in service.

The question I have is how can I configure the PBX to route all vancant extension to reception? The reason I need to do this is as staff leaves I want to ensure their calls get answered. I do not want to just forward the phone or create vectors as this will waste a right to use.

Thanks,

Mark.

Vancant DID

I'm still on lowly V6 for the time being, but that said I think this shoud be the same...

On page one of the change system-parameters features page there is an entry labelled "DID/TIE/ISDN Intercept Treatment". Mine is set to attd. Check to see what yours is set to.

Thanks sjforcum, mine is set for attd as well. But stating that I have DID that are not occupied. If I call one that has been set up as a set or service I can intercept from the CO telling me the number is not in service!

Do the command ' ch list ' if there isn't an extension already ready in the night destination field then put in the ext. of the attd.
That should take care of it.
