Can't get thru from outside line...Opt 11

very inexperienced with Avaya.....a phone set and data module were temporarily disconnected, no move was made. After reconnecting the data module and phone, the phone works but the data module has the red and green lights flashing back and forth. i found docs that say this indicates the module cannot communicate with the switch. It has been connected to the same jack and no wiring has changed. Would the module be disabled or something similar? The docs say yoiu can view the status of the module in the admin software but it doesn't mention how to repair communication. Any help is greatly appreciated.

emergency call system

what is it being used for? You may have to reinitialize it by hooking a laptop up to it and sending a set of AT commands to it. If its in a Hotel & hooked to a Property Management System for example you woudl send AT&FATF24=1AT&LAT&D2AT&S1ATS0=1ATQ1E0&W0&W1&Y0&V

Hi There,

Do you have the extention number for the DM if so perform status data xxx (where xxx is the extn number) this should provide a clearer picture of whether the problem is cabling issue or a problem with the DM. If service state shows disconnected then I would be 99.99 % sure it is a cable issue. If this is not the vase try busying and releasing the DM you can do this either with the extn number or port position i.e busy data xxx then enter release data xxx (xxx= extn) or you can busy port xxxxxxx (where xxxxxxx is the port position eg 01a1701) and release port. If all else fails try plugging out and plugging back in again as I would avoid AT commands until all else has failed
