Ok here is a blanket question.
I am an Avaya PBX Dude, I know nothing about Nortel and yet I have been given the great job of helping our sister city move off their Nortel onto an Avaya Definity 9. Other than the basic conversion of a call flow chart to Avaya coding is there a way you can scrape the Nortel and then import the set up onto a PC to then convert to Avaya or am I dreaming in technicolor here? Any suggestions on how I might do this conversion painlessly?

From Nortel to Avaya

A while back I had heard someone say Avaya would be willing to sell the software program their programmers use (it's a beefed up version of ASA)...while the cost seemed extreemely prohibitive for normal maintenance / day to day stuff, it may be suitable for what you're doing...although I think you're still going to have to re-key everything into the Avaya since I doubt either company is using any type of standard ODBC database which would allow it's settings to be ported from one switch to the other....

You can Print all the phones to paper. . What kind of Nortel System? and what software do they have to work with? I.e. MAT - Meridian Administration Tools or OTM - Optivity Telephony Manager or TTY- The Old Ugly looking 1950's style monitor in the PBX Room?

MWI Issue

Thanks Guys for the Help, it appears I will be doing it the old fashion way. Fortunately once I learn the Nortel call flow diagram, I can code it on my Avaya and then scrape it and import it onto the new one.
Thanks again.
