New to the Avaya scene. Are there limitations to the distance a digital phone can be from the switch?

Cingular Wireless needs to be corrected

Certainly. It is known as the maximum "loop length". I am not familiar with Avaya but a Meridian set can go up to 1 kilometer (0.621 miles) from the PBX. I doubt that other manufacturers go much further than that considering the data and power limitations on copper. Hope that helps.

How far are you trying to go?

an IP phone may be an good alternative for you, if you plan on having a lot of these.
